“What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger”- Friedrich Nietzsche
A Brexipreneur is Born
I grew up in a small town of India where the benchmark of being a successful man was limited to becoming an engineer, doctor or an administrative officer in the government. At the time I was 10, the sudden demise of Dhirubhai Ambani in 2002 shook the entire nation. Every news headlines were filled with Dhirubhai’s name and how politicians and celebrities were paying tribute to this gentleman. I had never heard of him before and I wondered why people respect him so much. I wanted more information on him when internet was just a word for me and not an utility at home. Obviously, I asked my father to enlighten me. He peevishly asked me to complete my studies for the night.
I couldn’t sleep the entire night seeking for information about this man whom I never heard of. A wise man once said, a father is tough on outside and the kindest soul inside. Next day, he got me a Financial Times Newspaper from his office. It not only opened up my world to Dhirubhai, the founder of Reliance Industries but also to a world of limitless possibilities. Innovation happening around the world with cellphone and internet, people behind these wonderful creations just amazed me. I just got a glimpse of my future!
Many established and upcoming businesses and immigrant entrepreneurs were born out of such eureka moments like mine. They’ve been creating jobs and making the United Kingdom an empowering economy not only in the Europe but across the world. Brexit might be good for some and bad for some. Entrepreneurs are problem solvers, we make things simple, everyday! We can save our business and economy out of this man made apocalypse by constant hustle. Believing in our abilities and dreams will enlighten us with ways to hustle through brexit.
Voyotel was born during the Brexit and I’m a Brexipreneur. It didn’t kill me and my startup, certainly it made us stronger. I will hustle and so must you!
Not all immigrants hold knives and guns, majority of us hold education degrees in our hand, knowledge and consciousness in our brain to make the United Kingdom and the world a better place to live in.
